About Subaddress
The Subaddress that you enter in the transmission table is a number up
to 20 digits long that your fax machine and the receiving fax machine
use to identify the operation. It can be any number you desire as long
as both fax machines use the same number.
Once you and the operator of the receiving machine agree upon a
Subaddress, ask the operator to enter the following information under
the Subaddress in the receiving machine. This information defines the
operation.
♦ Select whether the operation is a relay request operation or a
confidential transmission.
♦ For a relay request operation, ask the operator of the receiving
machine to enter the fax numbers of the end receiving machines.
The operator may also enter a passcode that your fax machine must
use to gain permission for the relay transmission.
♦ For a confidential transmission, if the receiving fax machine has
multiple confidential mailboxes, ask the operator to enter the
mailbox number of the recipient.
Except for the relay request passcode, you do not need to enter the
above information in your fax machine. However, you will want to
verify that the information has been correctly entered in the receiving
machine.
