High-definition content output in high-definition format
The following temporary Screen Mode settings are available when viewing high-definition
content output in a high-definition format. Note that the setting is returned to Standard after
each channel change.
To choose a Screen Mode, use the SCREEN MODE button on the remote control or change the
default setting of the Screen Mode in the main menu.

Standard

Select the Standard setting when you want to view a
high-definition image with no adjustment.
Expand
(Temporary)
Select the Expand setting to horizontally stretch a 16:9
image. This may be useful for some broadcasts that
were produced in 4:3 aspect ratio and are broadcast in a
16:9 aspect ratio. Objects in the image will appear
wider than normal and left and right portions of the
image will not be shown.
Shrink
(Temporary)
Select the Shrink setting to horizontally compress a
16:9 image. Objects in the image will appear thinner
than normal and black bars will appear at the left and
right side of the 16:9 image.
