Answering Calls
1.
Make sure your phone is on. (If your phone is off, incoming
calls go to voicemail.)
2.
Press
to answer an incoming call. (Depending on your
settings, you may also answer incoming calls by pressing
other keys. See “Call Answer Mode” on page 41.)
Your phone notifies you of incoming calls in the following ways:
ⅷ
The phone rings or vibrates.
ⅷ
The backlight illuminates.
ⅷ
The screen displays an incoming call message.
If the incoming call is from a number stored in your Contacts,
the entry’s name is displayed.The caller’s phone number may
also be displayed, if available.
When receiving a call, press one of the following keys for other
actions:
ⅷ
to answer a call in speaker mode.
ⅷ
IGNORE WITH TEXT (right softkey) to ignore the call and
send a text message to the caller.
ⅷ
to ignore a call.
ⅷ
SILENCE (left softkey) to mute the ringer and vibration.
Answering a Roam Call With Call Guard Enabled
Call Guard is an option that helps you manage your roaming
charges when making or receiving calls while outside the
home network. Please see “Roaming” on page 98 for more
information about roaming.

Note
When your phone is off, all calls go directly to voicemail.
Tip
Pressing the BACK key or any of the side buttons can
also mute the ringer and vibration.
Note
IGNORE WITH TEXT
may not be displayed when calls
are from entries identified as No Caller ID, Private, or
Unavailable ID .
