Maintenance Safety
General
Disconnect power to the
machine when perform-
ing any maintenance,
assembly or adjust-
ments. Failure to do this
may result in serious per-
sonal injury.
Loose hair and clothing
could get caught in
machinery and cause
serious personal injury.
Keep loose clothing
rolled up and long hair
tied up and away from
machinery.
Your safety is important! Please follow the
warnings below during this entire section:
Projectiles from the
machine could cause
serious eye injury. Wear
safety glasses at all
times.
Regular periodic maintenance on your Ultimate
Series Jointers will ensure optimum performance.
Make a habit of inspecting your machine each
time you use it.
Before each use, perform the following
checks:
1.
Loose mounting bolts.
2.
Worn switch.
3.
Worn or damaged cords and plugs.
4.
Damaged V-belt.
5.
Any other condition that could hamper the
safe operation of this machine.
Table
The table and other non-painted surfaces on your
machine should be protected against rust and pit-
ting. Wiping the table clean after every use
ensures that moisture from wood dust does not
remain on bare metal surfaces.
Tables can be kept rust-free with regular applica-
tions of products like SLIPIT
®
or Boeshield
®
T-9.
For long term storage you may want to consider
products like Kleen Bore's Rust Guardit™.
