Initial start up procedure
The micro SIM card
To use your phone, you must insert a valid SIM card that is supplied by your GSM service
provider. Only micro SIM cards can be used in your phone.
The SIM card contains your subscription number and other specific information about your
subscription as well as your GSM phone number. It also contains some memory in which
you can store phone numbers and messages. If you use your SIM card with another GSM
cellular phone, your phone number and names list remain unchanged.

Your PIN and PUK codes
Once the micro SIM card is properly installed and the phone turned on, it asks you for the
PIN code. The PIN code is the four to eight digit secret code of the SIM card. Your GSM
subscription provider should give you this number before the first time you try to connect
to the network.
If you enter a wrong PIN code, you can try again, and this up to 3 attempts total. If you
enter an incorrect PIN code three times, your SIM card will be blocked
You must then enter your PUK code to unblock the phone. This code is confirmed to you
by your service provider. If you enter an incorrect PUK code ten times in a row, the card
will be permanently and completely blocked and therefore unusable. In the case this should
happen, please contact your network operator.
Your PIN2 and PUK2 codes
Depending on your SIM card, you may have some features on your phone that will require
you to enter a PIN2 code. This four to eight digit secret code should be provided to you
by your service provider.
