13. When the front-to-rear slope is correct, tighten the

pivot plate mounting bolts (Figure 63).

14. When the front-to-rear blade slope is correct, check

the side-to-side level of the cutter deck; refer to
Leveling the Cutter Deck from Side-to-Side.

Cleaning

Washing the Underside of the
Cutter Deck

Service Interval: Before each use or daily

Wash the underside of the cutter deck to prevent
grass buildup for improved mulch action and clipping
dispersal.

1. Park the tractor on a level surface.

2. Disengage the blade control (PTO) and set the

parking brake.

3. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all

moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.

4. Attach the coupling (not included) to the cutter

deck washout fitting and turn the water on high
(Figure 64).

Note: Spread petroleum jelly on the washout fitting
o-ring to make the coupling slide on easier and
protect the o-ring.

5. Lower the cutter deck to the lowest height of cut.

6. Sit on the seat and start the engine.

7. Engage the blade control (PTO) and let the cutter

deck run for 1 to 3 minutes.

8. Disengage the blade control (PTO).

9. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all

moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.

10. Remove the ignition key.

11. Turn the water off and remove the coupling from

the washout fitting and hose.

12. Run the cutter deck again for 1 to 3 minutes to

remove the excess water.
