Serial number label location
When ordering parts or requesting information, the serial number label, located inside the battery bay,
provides important information that you may need when contacting technical support.
NOTE: Serial number label location, format, and color vary on select models.
(1) Product name The name affixed to the front of the computer.
(2) Serial number An alphanumeric identifier that is unique to each product.
(3) Product number This number provides specific information about the
product’s hardware components. The product number
helps a service technician to determine what components
and parts are needed.
(4) Warranty period The duration of the warranty period for the computer.
(5) Model description An alphanumeric identifier used to locate documents,
drivers, and support for the computer.
