8.1 General cleaning tips
Only use suitable cleaning agents to avoid damage to the
appliance surfaces.
Suitable cleaners
¡ Use the mildest cleaning procedure that will do the job
efficiently and effectively. Some cleaners of the same
type are harsher than others. Try on a small inconspicu-
ous area first.
¡ Always rub metal finishes in the direction of the polish
lines for maximum effectiveness and to avoid marring
the surface.
¡ Use only clean soft cloths, sponges, paper towels, fi-
brous brushes, plastic, non-metal or steel wool soap
pads for cleaning and scouring, as recommended on
the chart.
¡ Most exterior parts of this appliance can be cleaned
with hot sudsy water (except the various items specifi-
cally identified otherwise). When rinsing is required,
rinse thoroughly.
¡ Always wipe dry immediately to avoid water marks.
Avoid these cleaners
¡ Do not use commercial oven cleaners such as Easy
Off® 1 . They may damage the oven finish or parts.
¡ DO NOT USE CHLORINE BASED CLEANERS.
8.2 Cleaning recommendations
Clean only those parts of your range that are listed in this
cleaning chart.
WARNING
To avoid risk of electrical shock, DO NOT use a steam
cleaner or high pressure cleaners to clean the appliance.
Penetrating moisture may cause electrical shock.
NOTICE:
Humidity might enter the appliance interior, if you remove
the control knobs during cleaning. This may damage the
appliance.

Do not remove the control knobs when cleaning the ap-
pliance.

Bezels and control

¡ Wipe with hot soapy water.
¡ Rinse and dry immediately.
Recommended cleaners:

Important notes:
¡ DO NOT soak knobs.
¡ DO NOT force knobs onto wrong valve shaft.
Burner base / brass
Burner cap / cast iron
¡ Wipe with recommended
cleaner.
¡ A stiff nylon bristle tooth brush
can be used to clean port open-
ings.
¡ Rinse and dry immediately.
¡ Dry the burners completely. If
there are water droplets or
damp patches on the rangetop
when you start cooking, the
enamel may be damaged.
¡ Make sure the burner caps are
seated correctly on the burner
bases after cleaning.
Recommended cleaners:
¡ Non-abrasive cleaner: Dish soap and hot water
¡ Mild abrasive cleaners:
– Bon Ami® 1
– Barkeepers Friend® 1
– Wright's® All Purpose Brass Polish 1
Important notes:
¡ DO NOT scratch or gouge the port openings of the
burner cap.
¡ Do not clean the burner parts in the dishwasher. They
may be damaged.
