Provide appropriate lubrication while cutting threads.
1. Remove the wheel axle nut. (Refer to fig.1).
2. Choose the correct diameter and pitch thread chaser
from the set.
3. Screw the thread chaser onto the axle spindle, ensure
the thread chaser is the correct way around (Fig.2)
face towards the thread. Note: the face is the side
without the embossed writing.
4. When chasing a thread, turn ½ turn clockwise, then ¼
turn anti-clockwise and so on, this will allow the swarf
to flow into the grooves of the chaser.
5. Chase the entire thread in this manner.
6. When complete, remove the thread chaser.
7. Clean the axle thread and thread chaser with paraffin
or similar to completely remove all traces of swarf.
