1. sAfeTY INsTRuCTIONs
WARNING! ensure all Health and safety, local
authority, and general workshop practice regulations
are strictly adhered to when using this product.
Ensure you have read and understood the safety aspects
of dealing with fuel injection systems and petrol in general
before using this kit.
IMPORTANT: Always refer to the vehicle manufacturer’s
service instructions, or proprietary manual to establish the
current procedures and data for dealing with pressurised
fuel systems.
Maintain
tools in good and clean condition for best and
safest performance.
Account for all tools and parts being used and do not leave
them in, or on the engine after use.
fuel Hazards:
WARNING! Petrol fumes and battery gases are explosive.
DO NOT smoke or allow an open flame or sparks in the
work area.
Keep a dry chemical (class B) fire extinguisher near to the
working area.
Avoid fire hazard by using caution when disconnecting fuel
lines and installing stoppers - some spillage is inevitable.
When connecting to or disconnecting from a fuel system,
relieve pressure from system and wrap a cloth around the
fuel line fitting to absorb any fuel leakage. Wipe up fuel
spills immediately.
fuel leaks:
DO NOT let fuel drip or spill onto a hot engine.
Wipe up fuel spills immediately.
Check all stopper seals are in good condition before use.
After use, ensure that there are no fuel deposits remaining
on any of the components used .
Personal / Operation:
Wear approved eye protection. A full range of personal
safety equipment is available from your Sealey dealer.
Keep yourself, clothing and test equipment away from all
moving or hot engine parts.
DO NOT wear jewellery and tie back long hair.
Before working on any fuel system, turn off the ignition
switch and disconnect the battery per manufacturer's
procedure.

2. INTRODuCTION
3. CONTeNTs
A comprehensive kit designed to stop the flow of fuel from fuel
lines after disconnection. Comprises long reach flexi-hose clamp,
fuel pipe separator, six fuel hose plugs and four fuel supply
adaptor clamps with rubber bungs, suitable for banjo and metal
fuel pipes. Compatible with brake, transmission, fuel lines and
other applications.
4. OPeRATION
4.1 Relieving fuel system pressure.
WARNING! Before disconnecting any fuel lines, the
fuel system pressure must be relieved, this will
prevent fuel spraying when a joint is disconnected.
Ensure that you follow the procedures laid down by the
manufacturer of the vehicle that is being worked on.
Refer to the latest published information.
WARNING! DO NOT assume that all pressure in the
fuel system has been relieved. When disconnecting,
wrap a cloth around the fuel line fitting to absorb any
fuel leakage.
4.2 extension hose clamp.
Ensure that the rubber hose is positioned within the
clamping area 'A'. See figs.1 & 2. To clamp the pipe turn
the knob 'B' (fig.1) until the pipe is firmly clamped (fig.3).
1 extension hose clamp - Used for clamping off rubber fuel
hoses. Useful for reaching hoses where access is limited.
2 Clamp (Metal fuel Pipe) - To close off end of metal fuel
pipe after dismantling.
3 Clamp (Banjo fitting) - To seal both sides of banjo fuel
fitting after dismantling.
4 fuel Pipe separator - Used to undo fuel pipe couplings.
5 stoppers - Used to close off hoses, vacuum pipes etc. Two
of each size supplied - 3/16", 1/4", 5/16".
