To centre a Phrase Search or Example Search list screen
While a Phrase Search or Example Search list screen is on the
display, press
and then to centre the phrases or
examples with the fi rst term you input in the centre of the screen.
Each time you press
after that will display phrases or
examples that contain the second term, third term, and so on, as
shown below.

Second term
The above example shows how the screen changes following an
Example Search for “by the way” in the Oxford Advanced Learner’s
Dictionary.
You can centre up to the third word you input.
Some content does not support phrase and example centring.
