• When using a Modicon PLC with 32 available drops, Modicon allows
32 input words and 32 output words per drop. One word is equivalent to
one 16 bit logic module or one channel on an 8 channel register module.
Therefore, the maximum number of logic inputs or outputs per drop is
144 (nine 16 bit modules), which assumes the use of no numerics. The
maximum number of numeric outputs per drop is 32 (four 8 channel
register output modules), which assumes the use of no logics .
• When using a Modicon PLC with 6 available drops, Modicon allows
64 input words and 64 output words per drop. One word is equivalent to
one 16 bit logic module or one channel on an 8 channel register module.
Therefore, the maximum number of logic inputs or outputs per drop is
144 (nine 16 bit modules), which assumes the use of no numerics. The
maximum number of numeric inputs or outputs per drop is 64 (eight 8
channel register input/output modules), which assumes the use of no logics.
