1. Place the transmission in neutral.

2. Lock the parking brake, sit in the driver’s

seat and fasten your seat belt.

NOTE: Do not use the choke before

attempting to start the RANGER TM model.

on the first attempt, and then push the choke

knob in immediately when the engine starts.
3. Pull the choke knob (1) all the way out.

NOTE: Do not press the throttle pedal while starting the engine.
4. Turn the ignition key to START.

5. If the engine does not start within five seconds, release the ignition

switch and wait five seconds. Turn the ignition switch to START

for another five seconds. Repeat this procedure until engine starts.

6. If the engine slows or stops, push the choke knob in half way.

7. Vary the engine RPM slightly with the throttle to aid in warm up

until the engine idles smoothly. Then push the choke completely

in.

Engine exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide and can

cause loss of consciousness resulting in severe injury or death.

Never run an engine in an enclosed area.

WARNING

minutes before operating the vehicle.

engine is running. Damage to the starter can result.
