If you are not able to establish communication with the controller, check the following conditions:
1) Verify the controller itself is receiving power from the power supply.
2) Make sure you the USB cable is securely connected to the port on the controller and on the computer.
3) Try closing the software program and restarting.
4) Check that the port has not been disabled by the computer’s hardware configuration or by the
computer’s firewall.
5) Verify that the proper FTDI VCP driver is installed, as noted above.
6) BE PATIENT! Allow enough time for the software to search for the controller, this is especially
important if there are numerous USB ports on the computer.
The controller software settings are arranged into six sections:
CONTROL TEMPERATURE
TEMPERATURE SENSOR
CONTROL MODE
CONTROLLER OPTIONS
ALARMS
OUTPUT
The options for each section box are revealed when you click the corresponding SELECT button. This opens up a menu box
next to the left of the graph box. When you make a change to any of the menu options, the new parameters are sent to the
controller, and then the parameters are read back to the GUI to verify that they received and stored in the controller. You
may notice a delay between making a change and when the software is next able to respond. This is normal and is due to
the processing time it takes to actually update and verify the controller has processed the applicable settings. The menu
box is closed when you click the OK button on the corresponding section box.
If you make changes to a controller setting via the keypad, the software will automatically detect this change the next time
the software polls the controller.
