M EQ1000A - This illustration shows the rear of the MEQ1000A.
The ASI c onnectors are type BNC f em al e.
The ASI input is us ed to input SCTE-18 data in ASI f ormat f or

use with DTAs and in EAS dais y-chaining applic ati ons.

R1; RF OUT PUT – This is the high level (61 dBmV), 54 to 1002 MHz, output from the

MEQ1000A upc onverter s ection.

R2; Contact Closure Termi nal - Connect thes e to EAS Rec eiver Contact Cl osur e

cables to allow the triggering of EAS activati on.

R3; ASI Input - This is f or receiving EAS and DTA data f rom a Drake EH24, EH24 A,

EH244, EH244-IP or MEQ1000A.

R4; Input M odule Slot A.

R5; Input M odule Slot B.

R6; ASI Output - This output delivers the s ame multi-program transport stream in ASI as

is sent to the QAM modulator. W hen the DTA/EAS mode is Enabled, this ASI output n o
longer outputs the s ame data as the QAM output; it now acts as an ASI Loop, outputting
DTA/EAS dat a onl y.

R7; RS232 in - Connection to a PC or modem f or use with remote control / m onit oring
program or f or firmware update downl oad.

R8; RS232 OUT - Loop/Dais ych ain to another MEQ1000A.

R9; AC Line Cord – For connection to the nominal 120 VAC power sourc e. This unit is

designed f or use in countries with 120 VAC power standards but the power supply will
acc ept an input voltage range of 90 VAC minimum to 260 VAC maximum with a power
line frequenc y of either 50 or 60 Hz.
