C.1
Introduction
The Data Time Series 50 controller can be used to update a Data Time I (Saturn I) controller.
This update is for the controller only. Please refer to the display manual for questions
concerning the display.
C.2 Installation
1. Disconnect the power and signal for the Data Time I controller and place it aside.
2. Plug the signal cable (16 pin circular) of the Data Time Series 50 controller into the
existing J-box. Refer to Figure 6.
3. Plug one end of the 25-foot, grey modular cable into the Data Time console and the other
end into the jack labeled “Console” on the controller enclosure.
4. Plug the wall transformer cord into the jack labeled “Power/12 VAC” on the controller
enclosure. Plug the wall transformer into the outlet. On power-up, the console LCD
should display the word “DATATIME” for a few seconds, show the software revision
number, and then start cycling through the programmed sequence of time and/or
temperature and/or price.
C.3 Operation
Refer to Section 4 for operating instructions and to Section A.3 for indoor console use.
Note: SW 8 must be on. Refer to Section 4.8 (7/8 segment mode) for this update.

Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting the controller can be done with the hand-held console. If the console is
operating and displaying correctly, then the controller is most likely operating properly. Refer
to the display manual for troubleshooting the display.
