6.3 Standard features
The AL2xxx linear servomotor series from Beckhoff is not a self­contained system. It includes various
components such as a coil unit and magnetic plates and must be integrated into a complete machine
concept or a complete working unit.
The size and shape of the carrier frame, the design of the carriage, the type of rail and type of bearings, and
the kind of buffer used depend on the application. The carrier frame and the carriage must be designed such
that an air gap is created between the coil unit and the magnetic plate.
Beckhoff offers numerous special components that are suitable for your demanding linear servomotor
applications and can easily be integrated into your machine concept.
