Face Preparation
The backing plate must be modified to remove the lower access door and secure a mounting bracket to the
mesh screen above the door. Follow the directions below to modify the face for the 21E.
Remove and discard the lower access door.
Place the backing plate on a suitable work surface with the front upwards (door hinges up). Center the bracket
template over the mesh screen as shown below (6-11/16” from either edge –the large hole to the left).
While holding the template in place, use a phillips screwdriver to create a hole in the three locations indicated on
the template (see photos below). The holes only need to separate the wire mesh to create a ¼” diameter hole.
