Chapter 3 Importing Data
Watch Function
Create one or more pages from a
single database. Even after pages
are added to the PlayList, they
may be updated when changes are
saved to the original database.
When done, click [OK]. The in-
formation from the file will populate
the [Data] column in the table.
Click the [Add] button to add
the page to the PlayList.
Any changes to the database
file will be reflected in the populat-
ed template when clicking [Update]
or while the page is on air using
[Start AutoCast].

Select a template by clicking
on the thumbnail in the Template
List or selecting it with the Tem-
plate dropdown in the Play Item
Edit Window.
Once selected, the table in the
Play Item Edit Window populates
with a list of all alias objects avail-
able.
Check the [Watch] box.
In the new window that opens,
choose [DB] from the Data Type
dropdown menu.
Check [Use Multi-row Input] to
populate multiple fields from the
database in one template.
Enter the name of the data-
base in Data Source Name. If the
database includes a user name
and password, enter these in the
appropriate fields.
In the SQL Query field, en-
ter “Select” followed by the field
names separated by a comma (,).
Finish the query with “from” and
the name of the database. Enter
the field names in the order the
alias objects are listed.

Check [Multi-Page] to create
multiple pages from one
database. Be sure the alias
names begin with a number for
Multi-Page to work properly
