SETTING ANGLES
The indexing knob (5535, pre-installed for shipping)
fits through an indexing hole (select the angle you desire) in
the miter gauge. We have installed bronze bushings for wear
purposes at the most common angle locations. When using
an indexing knob to set an angle, you will need to loosen the
handle and remove the indexing knob. Re-install the indexing
knob and tighten the handle after changing to the new angle
setting. When not used for indexing, screw the indexing knob in
the knob holder. See fig. 5.
When you can't use the indexing knob, set the angle using
the pointer/vernier scale, or by reading against the miter fence
and the machined edge of the miter bar. Tighten the handle
to lock the angle setting. An optional accessory is our 950
MiterMatic. It has several angles not covered by the indexing
holes in our miter gauge and makes setups for these less
common angles very easy.
TRACK HARDWARE
Use the two knobs (5540), two 3/4" bolts (HB020) and
two 1/4" washers (WB002) to attach an Ultra Track (sold
separately) to the miter gauge. You can also attach a wood fence
(not provided) to the miter fence using two wood screws (not
provided). See fig. 6.
MAINTENANCE
Periodically lubricate the pivot screw and the indexing
knob. The miter fence is a separate piece that bolts to the miter
head. Should your miter gauge get out of square, and assuming
nothing is bent, you can re-square the miter gauge by loosening
the two bolts and making the necessary adjustment.
OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES
Optional accessories include Ultra Track for mounting our
Straight and Curved Flip Stops, Ruler Bars & Tapes, MDF Sub-
Fences, the Box Joint Jig and more!
