To calibrate one range, follow next steps:
• Turn the instrument on by toggling ON/OFF.
When main screen appears, the instrument is
ready.
• Make sure that the correct range is selected
free or total chlorine. If necessary, press
RANGE
to select the correct range.
• Press
CAL CHECK and then press the Cal key
to start calibration procedure.
• Place the zero cuvette (A) in the instrument
with the mark on the cuvette aligned with the
mark on the instrument top.
• Press the
Zero key. The dashes and the lamp
icon will blink on the LCD, depending on the
measurement phase. If the zeroing procedure
was successful, the display will show “
-0.0-”.
• Remove the cuvette.
• Place the CAL CHECK™ Standard Cuvette B
into the holder. Make sure that the mark on
the glass is aligned with the mark on the
instrument top.
• Press the
Read key. The LCD wil display dashes
and the lamp icon blinking, depending on the
measurement phase. After a few seconds the
display will briefly show the calibration
standard value, store the calibration without
warning and return to the measurement screen.
Use the provided standard solution to calibrate the free or total chlorine range of the
HI 83414. Do
not calibrate the instrument with standard solutions other than Hanna CAL CHECK™ Standards,
otherwise erroneous results will be obtained. For accurate calibration please perform test at room
temperature, 18 to 25 ºC (64.5 to 77.0 ºF).
