3. Push the feed roller lock lever up (a) and move it to
the left (b) to lock the feed roller in place.
4. Push the roller cover up until it clicks into place.
IMPORTANT
When opening and closing the roller cover, be careful not to
touch the glass (staple detection window). If the glass gets dirty,
staple detection accuracy is degraded.
5. Carefully lower the upper unit (a). Press down on
both sides of the upper unit to ensure that it is
securely closed.(b)
Cleaning the Retard Roller
Use the following procedure to remove and reinstall the retard
roller during cleaning or replacement.
CAUTION
Do not use excessive force when removing or reinstalling the retard
roller. Doing so could damage the roller, resulting in feed errors.
■ Removing and Cleaning the Retard Roller
1.
Carefully raise the upper unit until it stops.
2. Grasp the roller cover with your fingers, and pull it up
to remove it.
