Elastic can be applied directly to the fabric, such as when making lingerie.
If the elastic is %” wide or less, the elastic can be placed into the
Standard Foot’s opening, making it easier to evenly stretch the elastic

while sewing.

Standard Foot

Materials:
Nylon tricot 4”

" wide elastic strip, cut 7” long

Procedure:

♦Thread elastic through the needle-opening hole in the foot.
♦ Pull 2-3” of elastic to the back of the foot, enough to firmly

grasp.

♦ Position fabric under the foot.
♦Sew, gently pulling the elastic from the front and back while sewing.
