READ THIS OWNER’S MANUAL AND SAFETY RULES BEFORE OPERATING YOUR LAWN RIDER.

Compare the illustrations with your Lawn Rider to familiarize yourself with the location of various controls and adjustments.

Sears tractors conform to the safety standards of the American National Standards Institute.

IGNITION SWITCH: Used for starting and stopping the

engine.

THROTTLE/CHOKE CONTROL: Used for starting and

controlling engine speed.
CLUTCH/BRAKE PEDAL: Used for declutching and brak­
ing the tractor and starting the engine.
GEARSHIFT LEVER: Selects the speed and direction of

tractor.

PARKING BRAKE LEVER: Locks clutch/brake pedal into

the brake position.

MOWER CLUTCH LEVER: Used to engage the mower
blades.
MOWER LIFT LEVER: Used to raise and lower the mower

dsck.
MOWER HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT KNOB: Used to set
mower cutting height.

A CAUTION

TO AVOID INJURY

READ OWNER'S MANUAL.
KNOW LOCATION AND FUNCTION OF ALL CONTROLS.
KEEP GUARDS, SAFETY SHIELDS AND SWITCHES IN PLACE AND WORKING.

REMOVE OBJECTS THAT CAN BE THROWN BY BLADES.
DO NOT MOW WHEN CHILDREN AND OTHERS ARE AROUND.

NEVER CARRY CHILDREN OR PASSENGERS.
ALWAYS LOOK BEHIND MACHINE BEFORE BACKING.
DO NOT MOW WHERE MACHINE CAN TIP OR SLIP.
IF MACHINE STOPS GOING UPHILL, STOP BLADE AND BACK DOWN SLOWLY.
BE SURE BLADES AND ENGINE HAVE STOPPED BEFORE PLACING HANDS

OR FEET NEAR THE BLADES.
REMOVE KEY WHEN LEAVING MACHINE.
