and reinstall the six-speed cable into the slot.
Check and make sure the belt is routed inside
the pulley halves and the belt guard pin.
Reinstall and tighten the bolt securing
transmission to rear mower housing.
Pivot the baffle back to its original position and
secure with three hex screws earlier removed.
You will need a 3/8” socket for these screws.
Reinstall spacer, wave washer, blade adapter
assembly and the blade in the correct order.
Tighten the hex bolt to secure the blade. Follow,
recommended torque which is 450-600 in.-lbs.

tighten the drive clutch control if
a. the mower does not self-propel with the
drive clutch engaged; or
b. the mower’s drive wheels hesitate while
engine maintains same speed; or
c. it is more comfortable to have the drive
engaged with the lever further away from
the handle.
To adjust the drive clutch, follow these steps:
•
Rotate the adjustment wheel clockwise to
tighten the cable. See Figure 25.
•
Rotate the adjustment wheel counter
clockwise to loosen the cable. See Figure 25.
•
Make certain to retest the unit for neutral
adjustment (see page 10). Loosen the drive
clutch control if necessary.

DRIVE CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT
The drive clutch control adjustment wheel is located
STORAGE
Prepare your lawn mower for storage at the end of the
season or if the unit will not be used for 30 days or
more.
Store mower
in
a clean, dry area.
MOWER
•
Clean underside of the mower following
insfructions in the Maintenance section on page
13 of this manual.
•
Inspect and replace/sharpen blade, if required.
Refer to page 15 of this manual for blade care
instructions.
•
Lubricate mower following the lubrication chart in
Figure 11 of this manual.
•
You can fold your mower’s handle for convenient
storage. Follow these steps;
a. Remove the starter rope from the rope
guide.
b. Loosen the two hand knobs on the sides of
the handle, and let the upper handle fold
down to the rear.
c. Move the hairpin clips to the outer hole in
the weld pins on the handle mounting
brackets.
d. Spread the sides of the lower handle, and
push it forward and down.
NOTE:
When folding the handle for storage or
transportation, be careful not to bend or kink the
cables.
ENGINE
IMPORTANT
: It is important to prevent gum deposits
from forming in essential fuel system parts such as
carburetor, fuel filter, fuel hose, or tank during
storage. Also, experience indicates that alcohol
blended fuels (called gasohol or using ethanol or
methanol) can attract moisture which leads to
separation and formation of acids during storage.
Acidic gas can damage the fuel system of an engine
while in storage.
