3.5 PERSONAL ADJUSTMENT AND HIGH ALTITUDE DIVES
The instrument can be adjusted for increasing the conservatism of the mathematical model or for diving at altitude.
WARNING!
SET THE CORRECT PERSONAL/ALTITUDE ADJUSTMENT MODE! When diving at altitudes greater than 700 m
[2300 ft] the personal/altitude adjustment feature must be correctly selected in order for the computer to calculate no-
decompression status. The diver should also use this option to make the calculations more conservative, whenever it is
believed that factors which tend to increase the possibility of decompression sickness exist. Failure to properly select the
personal/ altitude adjustment mode correctly will result in erroneous data and can greatly increase the risk of decom-
pression sickness.
WARNING!
THE DIVE COMPUTER IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE AT ALTITUDES GREATER THAN 2400 m [8000 ft]!
Traveling to a higher elevation can temporarily cause a change in the equilibrium of dissolved nitrogen in the body with
the surroundings. It is recommended that the diver allow the body conditions to stabilize over a period of at least three
hours before beginning to dive at altitude.
ALTITUDE ADJUSTABILITY
When programming the instrument for the correct altitude, the diver needs to select the correct altitude mode according to
Table 3.2. As a result the dive computer adjusts its mathematical model according to the entered altitude, giving shorter no-
decompression times at higher altitudes (Tables 6.1 and 6.2).
