Focusing Your Camcorder
Auto Focus
If you want the camcorder to focus for you
automatically, set iheAUTO LOCK switch to
AUTO LOCK.
The camcorder will automatically focus on any
subject three feet or more from the lens. For a
subject closer than three feet, press “W” to change
to wide-angle where the subject will be in focus.
Manual Focus
Certain conditions require manual focusing.
• When taping two subjects - one near and one
distant.
• When taping subjects in very low light.
• When taping a horizontally striped subject.
• When taping subjects with little or no contrast.
To focus manually.
1. Slide ihe AUTO LOCK switch to A UTO LOCK.
2. Press power zoom button “T” and zoom in on the
subject.
3. Press the FOCUS ON/OFF button to select
manual focus. MF will appear in the viewfinder.
4. Press the + or - side of the MANUAL FOCUS +/-
button to adjust the focus.
• MF+ will appear in the viewfinder when
focusing in the -t- direction.
* MF- will appear in the viewfinder when
focusing in the - direction.
5. Use the power zoom buttons to select desired
zooming range.
Note: When the POWER switch is OFF, focus will reset
to auto when power is restored. Manual focus will remain
selected when you place the ON/POWER SAVE lever in
POWER SA VE and then restore power by placing it ON.
