The oven door should be closed during broiling.
1. Always use broiler pan and rack that comes with
your oven It is designed to m inim ize smoking and
spattering by trapping juices in the shielded lower part
of the pan
2. For steaks and chops, slash fat evenly around out
side edges of m eal To slash, cut crosswise through
outer fat surface just to the edge of the m eat. Use
tongs to turn m eat over to prevent piercing m eat and
losing juices.
3. If desired, marinate m eats or chicken before broil
ing, Or brush with barbecue sauce last 5 to 10 m in
utes only
4. W hen arranging food on pan, do not let fatty edges
hang over sides, which could soil oven with fat drip
ping.
S'. Broiler does not need to be preheated. However, for
very thin foods, or to increase browning, preheat if
desired,

Frozen Steaks can be conventionally broiled by
positioning the oven shelf at next lowest shelf position
and increasing cooking tim e given in this guide 1 Vt
