4.2.1.2 Type of liquid
The type of liquid being atomized strongly influences the minimum power level.
More viscous liquids or liquids with highsolids content generally increase the
minimum power requirement.
4.2.1.3 Flow rate
The flow rate also plays a role in determining minimum power level. For a given
nozzle, the higher the flow rate, the higher will be the power required, since the
nozzle works harder as the flow rate increases.
4.2.1.4 Cooling gas for nozzle
The spray gas, provided by the B290, serves as cooling gas for the ultrasonic
nozzle. It is connected to the connector “In” for the compressed cooling gas on
top of the nozzle, while the “Out” connector is left open.
The flow rate of the spray gas and thus the temperature of the nozzle can be
adjusted with the needle valve at the flow meter of the B290.
The temperature of the ultrasonic nozzle (as shown on the upper display of the
ultrasonic controller) should always be kept below 100 °C otherwise an alarm
will be triggered.
