Place the KX3 bottom cover assembly upside down as shown below. Attach the cover with the black flat head
screws as shown. Carefully place the heat sink on the enclosure and secure it with the screws shown. The thermal
pad presses against the powder coating on the bottom cover. Although the thermal pad is tacky, the heat sink can be
moved as needed to align the screw holes.

3. Page 28, Figure 41: Change the length of the screws used from 5/16” (7.9 mm) to 3/8” (9.5 mm).
4. Page 30: Before installing the KXFL3 filter module (if applicable), remove the heat sink mounting screw at
that end of the bottom cover to provide clearance for the KXFL3 board to be inserted into J3. After the
KXFL3 board is installed replace and tighten the screw. It should pass through the opening in the KXFL3
module to keep it from being jarred loose in the event the KX3 is handled roughly.
