Connect Parallel Arms
Refer to Figure 58 and Figure 59
Lower Parallel Arm
21. Select one:
151-173H LIFT ASSIST LWR PARALLEL ARM
Note: The lower parallel arms have a cross-tube with
a cylinder lug . The arms are installed with the
cross-tube closer to the front, lug up, and lug
pointing to the rear.
22. Select one set:
802-728C HHCS 1-8X18 GR5
804-029C WASHER FLAT 1 SAE
804-027C WASHER LOCK SPRING 1 PLT
803-031C NUT HEX 1-8 PLT
23. Bring the forward tube of the lower arms into
alignment with the lower holes of the lift-assist
mount . Insert a bolt . Add a flat washer
and lock washer . Secure with nut , tightened
to Grade 2 torque.
24. Select one set:
802-728C HHCS 1-8X18 GR5
804-029C WASHER FLAT 1 SAE
804-027C WASHER LOCK SPRING 1 PLT
803-031C NUT HEX 1-8 PLT
Bring the lower holes of the lift-assist pivot
into alignment with the rear tube of the lower
arms
. Insert a bolt . Add a flat washer
and lock washer . Secure with nut , tightened
to Grade 2 torque.
Upper Parallel Arm
25. Select one:
402-172H 16R PARALLEL ARM WLDMNT
Note: The upper parallel arms are symmetrical. There is
no top, bottom, front or back.
26. Repeat step 22 through step 24 for the upper arms
and upper holes.
Install Arm Zerks
27. Select four:
800-001C GREASE ZERK STRAIGHT 1/4-28
Install one zerk in middle of top and bottom
cross bar of each parallel arm.
