Finger Set Installation. Precision Finger Sets
can be easily installed in existing finger pick-up
meters. Follow these steps:

1.

Slide the finger set over the shaft and rotate
clockwise until it properly seats against the
backing plate. One click will sound when ash-
tray engages the roll pin and a second click
will sound when the cam engages the bearing
housing.

2.

Firmly hold the finger set against the backing
plate while tightening the nut.

3.

Rotate the meter and make sure the meter
turns freely and that there is no air gap be-
tween the outer rim of the ashtray and the
backing plate.

4.

While holding the ashtray firmly against the
backing plate, loosen the nut and then turn it
clockwise until the nut first contacts the ash-
tray. Mark one of the six points on the nut and
the corresponding point on the ashtray.

5.

Turn the nut 1/2 to 1 flat past the marked con-
tact point. (For reference, if using a torque
wrench to tighten the nut, the proper torque is
4 inch-lbs of torque on the nut).

6.

Place the slotted nut cover over the nut and
insert the cotter pin.

7.

Rotate the finger set clockwise and make
sure that the fingers open and close properly.
Fingers should be closed from the 8:00 to
2:00 position (exit hole) and open from the
2:00 to 8:00 position. Visually check that there
is no visible air gap between the ashtray and
backing plate.

Skip Stop™ Warnings.

1.

Make sure that the Skip Stop Cushion is se-
cured tightly to the back metal cover and can-
not turn or rotate. A loose Skip Stop Cushion
may result in seed leakage, poor meter perfor-
mance, and planting errors.

2.

Avoid seed treatments, additives, and other
chemicals when possible. They can cause
meter performance problems, premature wear
to meter parts, and may cause undesired
chemical reaction or deterioration to the Skip
Stop Cushion.

3.

Always pay attention to your seed monitor and
operator’s manual. Be sure to monitor the
amount of seed being planted compared to ex-
pected outcomes. NOTE: Always investigate
abnormalities!!
