15 Preparation and Setup
Hydraulic Hose Hookup
Great Plains hydraulic hoses are color coded to help you
hookup hoses to your tractor outlets. Hoses that go to
the same remote valve are marked with the same color.
To distinguish hoses on the same hydraulic circuit, refer
to plastic hose label. Hose under extended-cylinder sym-
bol feeds cylinder base ends. Hose under retracted-
cylinder symbol feeds cylinder rod ends.
Leveling Planter
Refer to Figure 4
During initial setup and periodically throughout the sea-
son, check that the planter runs level. When planting, the
top of the hopper support panel should be parallel to the
ground as shown.
To level the planter, the bottom of the mainframe tube
must run between 20 and 22 inches above ground when
lowered into planting position.

To obtain the correct height, reposition the planter
hitch on the tongue. The hitch can be turned over
for different heights.
