Connecting Power to a RAC6180 DC Unit
RAC6180 Industrial Computers can be equipped with a DC power supply.
It is recommended that the 24V DC power be supplied via 10 or 12 gauge
wiring kept as short as possible, preferably less than 3 meters in length.
ATTENTION: Proper Earth grounding of the product
chassis is required when using the 200W DC input power
supply. Keep the grounding wire short, and preferably
use braided cable, in order to reduce the impedance of this
connection as much as possible. Improper grounding will
result in reduced immunity to line transients and surges
on the DC input power lines.
The RAC6180 with a DC power supply is supplied with a terminal
connector that simplifies connecting power to the unit (see diagram on
page 27). You connect the wires to the terminal connector, and then plug
the terminal connector into the terminal block on the unit.
ATTENTION: Ensure that the wires are correctly
connected to the terminal connector. Failure to correctly
wire the connector could result in severe electrical shock
or damage to the unit.
