Formatting Type Description
Convert EAN-8 to EAN-13
When this option is enabled, the reader converts
EAN-8 to EAN-13 by transmitting five zeroes before
the bar code.
Convert UPC-A to EAN-13
When this option is enabled, the reader converts
UPC-A to EAN-13 by transmitting a leading zero
before the bar code.
Expand UPC-E
When this option is enabled, the reader expands
UPC-E to the 12–digit equivalent UPC-A.
Transmit lead zero on UPC-E
When this option is enabled, the reader outputs a zero
before each UPC-E bar code.
Transmit UPC-A check digit
When this option is enabled, the reader transmits the
UPC-A check digit.
Transmit UPC-A Number
System
When this option is enabled, the reader transmits the
UPC-A number system character. Duplicate numbers
may result at the host end, when the reader is
programmed not to transmit the UPC-A number
system character.
Transmit UPC-E check digit
When this option is enabled, the reader transmits the
UPC-E check digit.
Transmit EAN–13 check digit
When this option is enabled, the reader transmits the
EAN–13 check digit.
Transmit EAN–8 check digit
When this option is enabled, the reader transmits the
EAN–8 check digit.
