The hand cups must be positioned on the side
of the material that will face the inside of the
building.
The hand cups must be positioned above the
load weight center (otherwise the load will tend
to flip upside down). The higher the cups can
be positioned, the more stable the load will be.
Each of the hand cups must be positioned at
the same height and the same distance from
the load's weight center so that they are loaded
equally. This also requires the lift chains to be
equal in length for each hand cup.
The nylon bead at the end of the lifting rope
should be approximately 5 [12.5 cm] down
from the top of the window. This position
determines how the crane's boom begins to
retract and pull the window or load into place.
Experience will help determine the best position
for the hand cups and the bead.
Adjust the length of the lift chains to accommodate
the above criteria and as necessary to clear
mullions or framework. The distance between the
centers of the two cups (W) must always be less
than the height from center of pad to quick links
(H). If the cups are spread too widely, they will be
overloaded when the load is lifted. Quick links are
supplied on each end of the chain to allow for quick
adjustment and retention of extra chain. Make
sure to close the quick link and tighten the
threaded nut before attempting to lift.
WARNING: Distance between hand cup
centers (W) must always be
less than height of lifting kit (H).
If lifting other types of loads that do not require the use of hand cups, make sure to properly
secure the load to the lifting rope using only attachments that are rated for lifting weights above
the Eazi Lifter's Maximum Load Capacity of 220 lbs [100 kg] (see SPECIFICATIONS).
A load must never be lifted when the lifting rope is fully extended. At least 3 full wraps must be
maintained on the drum of the hand winch at all times during a lift.
Sealing the Pads against the Load
Make certain the entire sealing edge of each vacuum pad is contacting the load surface. Then
pump the plunger of the hand cup until the red line stays hidden, indicating that the pad is
securely attached (see T
