luminous infill panels create contemporary spaces with unique
visual impact in retail, hospitality, office, education and entertainment environments. These systems consist of
pre-formed and flat LEXAN
®
infill panels, flat FRP infill panels, flat PETG panels and a corresponding D

brand
or USG specialty ceilings suspension system.
Proper preparation and cleaning can help to maintain the panels’ original appearance. Before installation, remove
any dirt and debris from the surrounding area.
Preparation
Remove masking paper adhesive from the panels by applying naphtha (VM&P) or kerosene with a soft cloth, and
then clean immediately with soap and water.
For Translucents Woven, Shimmer or Textiles panels, do not
remove masking before fabrication. If masking is already removed, use a standard masking tape to protect
panel surface. Do not use gasoline. If the panel has static electricity buildup, wash according to instructions below
to prevent the panel from attracting dirt and dust.
Cutting Instructions
Exercise shop safety procedures and wear protective equipment including safety gloves, goggles, and ear and
respiratory protection when fabricating panels. Fabricate panels in a well-lit and ventilated area. Mark the
intended cut, and cut by following the line with either of the recommended power tools.
NOTE–MATERIAL CANNOT BE SCORED AND SNAPPED. Bending the material excessively will discolor the
material and cause irreparable damage. Use recommended power tools as suggested below:
Circular saw:
– 4,000 rpm or greater
– Blade depth to greater than six times the material thickness
– Blade type recommendations
Steel saw blade (for vinyl/paneling), 80 TPI
Jig saw:
– Blade steel-cutting type, greater than 18 teeth per inch
– Cut with saw set in smooth-cut mode or non-oscillating mode (if possible)
Hole saw:
– Follow the above guidelines for preparing the surface
– Drill pilot hole
– Standard hole saw
Washing
Washing will reduce static electricity in the panels, helping to prevent attraction to dust. Remove all masking
materials and wash panels with a mild soap or detergent (see Compatible Cleaners on next page) and lukewarm
water, using a clean sponge or soft cloth on a supported work surface. Use paper or cardboard between panel
and work surface. Rinse well with clean water. Dry thoroughly with a chamois or moist cellulose sponge to prevent
water spots. Do not scrub or use brushes. For additional static solutions, treat with anti-static cleaner to eliminate
dirt and dust cling.
To remove fresh paint splashes, grease or smeared glazing compounds, rub panels lightly with VM&P naphtha or
isopropyl alcohol. Wash with warm water and a mild soap or detergent solution. Rinse thoroughly with clean water
and let dry.
