Avoid trimming in wet conditions.
•
Be sure of your footing on slopes. Trim across the face of
slopes; do not trim up and down. Exercise caution when
changing direction on slopes.
•
Do not operate machine on slopes greater than 30 degrees.
•
Do not run; walk. Use extreme care when pulling the
trimmer towards you.
•
Do not tamper with the engine governor settings on the
machine; the governor controls the maximum safe operating
speed and protects the engine and all moving parts from
damage caused by dangerously high speeds.
•
Reduce the throttle setting during engine shut down, if
equipped, and shut off fuel valve when finished trimming.
•
Stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire, and allow the
machine to completely stop before clearing material from the
cutting mechanism.
•
Immediately shut off the engine, disconnect the spark plug
wire, and allow the machine to stop before removing object if
the cutting mechanism strikes any foreign object. Inspect for
damage and repair before restarting and operating the
trimmer.
•
If the machine starts vibrating abnormally, stop the engine,
disconnect the spark plug wire, and correct the problem before
restarting.
•
Do not operate in an enclosed area; carbon monoxide is
extremely dangerous. The exhaust from the engine contains
carbon monoxide, which is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless
gas.
•
Do not transport or move machine when it is running.
•
Keep the machine in good working condition. Check and
tighten all nuts, bolts, and screws.
•
Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
•
Store the machine out of the reach of children.
•
Drain fuel outdoors before storing machine.
•
Do not store the machine with fuel in the tank and where
gasoline vapors can reach an open flame or spark.
•
Keep engine free of grass, leaves, or excessive grease to
reduce fire hazard.
•
Always allow the machine to cool before storing.
•
Improper use or abuse of attachments (example: Beaver
Blade and trimmer blades) can result in serious injury.
•

operating, and service information.
