Familiarize yourself and other operators with the equipment
controls and operation. Don’t hurry the learning process or
take the unit for granted.
•
Do not allow children or unqualified individuals to operate this
equipment. Be aware of any local regulations restricting the
age of the operator.
•
Do not allow hands, or any part of body or clothing, near any
moving part.
•
Do not operate barefoot or wearing open sandals. Wear
substantial clothing to protect feet, legs, and other exposed
body parts.
•
Wear safety glasses at all times while operating the machine.
One pair of safety glasses is provided.
•
Do not operate machine while under the influence of alcohol
or medications. Do not use machine if tired or ill.
•
Wear work gloves, sturdy footwear, and ear and eye
protection when operating this equipment.
•
Replace a faulty muffler.
•
Keep all guards and deflectors in place and in good working
condition.
•
Visually check that all screws, nuts, bolts, and other fasteners
are properly secured. Once every ten hours of operation, all
screws, nuts, bolts and other fasteners should be checked and
tightened if necessary. Replace if worn or damaged.
•
Always use an approved fuel container. Do not remove the
gas cap or add fuel when engine is running. Add fuel to a cool
engine only.
•
Do not fill fuel tank indoors. Keep open flames, sparks,
smoking materials, and other sources of combustion away
from fuel.
•
Replace all fuel tanks and container caps securely after filling
the fuel tank.
•
Move the machine away from any fuel spillage before
attempting to start.
•
Shut off the engine, disconnect the spark plug, and make sure
all moving parts have come to a complete stop before
inspecting or servicing machine.
•
Inspect area to be trimmed thoroughly. Remove all foreign
objects (stones, wire, bottles, and cans) before operating.
•
Start or turn the engine carefully according to the engine
service manual while keeping body parts away from the
cutting mechanism.
•
Do not lift or tilt the trimmer during start-up.
•
Never leave machine unattended when it is running.
•
Trim only in daylight or in good artificial light.
