- A folder can be owned by more than one user; a group of users can share the
ability to modify the access privileges to the folder.
What privileges you need
When you want to work with files and folders on a file server, you must have
the appropriate privileges. Table 2-1 lists the access privileges that you
must have for a selected folder before you can perform the listed actions:

Finding out what privileges you have
You can find out what privileges you have to volumes on the network by any of
the following three methods:
- View the folder icons on the file server that are used to represent the
folder you want to access. It looks different to you depending on the
privileges you have.
- View the access privilege icons in the top-left corner of the directory
window of a folder. They can tell you what privileges you do not have.
- Use the Get Privileges command to find out exactly which of the three
privileges you have.
Viewing folder icons
When you work with folders on a server volume and you are using the By Small
Icon or By Icon view, the folder icons indicate what access you have to them:
