2.6 Removing the Differential Center
2.6.1 A IFS Clamshell Differential Center Removal
 Remove all bolts from around the outside of the clamshell.
 Gently pry the clamshell apart and remove the differential center.
NOTE : The differential center is heavy and quite difficult to
handle when covered in oil. Take care not to drop it.

B Live Axle Differential Center Removal
 Remove both adjuster nut locking tabs.
 Loosen both bearing caps.
 Loosen the adjuster nuts enough to remove the differential center.
 Remove the bearing caps and tapered roller bearing cups.
HINT : Be sure not to mix up the bearing cups. Later it will be
necessary to match the bearing cups to their cones.
 Carefully remove the differential center.
NOTE : The differential center is heavy and quite difficult to
handle when covered in oil. Take care not to drop it.
