GENERAL COMMENTS
A routine maintenance program can extend the life of your pump. Well maintained
equipment will last longer and require fewer repairs. You should keep maintenance
records, this will help pinpoint causes of problems.
Condition Monitoring
For additional safety precautions, and where noted in this manual, condition monitoring devices should be
used.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Pressure
gauges
Flow
meters
Level
indicators
Motor load readings
Temperature
detectors
Bearing
monitors
Leak
detectors
PumpSmart
control
system
For assistance in selecting the proper instrumentation and its use, please contact your ITT/Goulds representative.
MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE
The preventive maintenance section must be
adhered to in order to keep the applicable
ATEX classification of the equipment.
Failure to follow these procedures will void the ATEX
classification for the equipment.
Routine Maintenance
Bearing lubrication
Seal monitoring
Vibration analysis
Discharge pressure
Temperature monitoring
ROUTINE INSPECTIONS
Inspection intervals should be shortened
appropriately if the pumpage is abrasive
and/or corrosive, or if the environment is
classified as potentially explosive.
When handling hazardous and / or
toxic fluids, proper personal
protective equipment should be
worn. If pump is being drained,
precautions must be taken to prevent
physical injury. Pumpage must be
handled and disposed of in
conformance with applicable
environment regulations.
