You are shooting in RAW mode (page 59). Since the RAW data file is large, the RAW mode
shooting may take time.
The image is out of focus.
•
The subject is too close. Record in the close-up (Macro) recording mode. Make sure to
position the lens farther away from the subject than the shortest shooting distance from the
base point of distance mark, approximately 35 cm (13 7/8 inches) (W)/40 cm (15 3/4 inches)
(T), when shooting (
t
step 5 in “Read This First”).

(Twilight mode) or
(Landscape mode) is selected in the Scene mode when shooting still
images.
•
When shooting in manual focus mode, set the FOCUS switch to AUTO (page 48).
Precision digital zoom does not function.
•
Set [Digital Zoom] to [Precision] (page 71).
•
This function cannot be used while shooting in RAW mode (page 59).
Smart zoom does not function.
•
Set [Digital Zoom] to [Smart] (page 71).
•
This function cannot be used when:
–
The image size is set to [10M].
–
Shooting in RAW mode.
The flash does not work.
•
The flash is set to
(No flash) (page 50).
•
You cannot use the flash when:
–
Burst mode is selected (page 58).
–
Exposure bracket mode is selected (page 44).
–
(Twilight mode) is selected in the Scene mode (page 30).
•
Set the flash to
(Forced flash) or
(Forced flash with red-eye reduction) (page 50) when
(Landscape mode) is selected in the Scene mode.
•
When [Pop-up Flash] is set to [Manual], press the
button to pop up the flash (page 51).
Fuzzy specks appear in images shot using the flash.
•
Dust in the air reflected the flash light and appeared in the image. This is not a malfunction.
The close-up (Macro) function does not work.
•
(Twilight mode) or
(Landscape mode) is selected in the Scene mode (page 30).
The date and time are recorded incorrectly.
