Tap Shooting Options
Playback
Cannot record movies : The movie-record button can not be used to record
movies in best moment capture or Motion Snapshot mode ( 0 79, 90).
No sound is recorded for movies :
• Microphone off is selected for Movie sound options > Microphone
( 0 193).
• Live audio is not recorded with slow-motion, fast-motion, or jump-cut
movies ( 0 62) or with Motion Snapshots recorded with None selected
for Audio ( 0 90).
The touch screen can not be used for shooting or focus :
• Touch shooting options are not available in best moment capture or
Motion Snapshot mode.
• The edges of the display can not be used for shooting or focus. Tap
closer to the center of the display.
Pictures are blurred : The camera may move when the display is tapped,
which may under some conditions result in blurred pictures. Use both
hands to hold the camera steady.
NEF (RAW) images are not displayed : The camera displays only the JPEG copies
of NEF (RAW) + JPEG fine images ( 0 173).
“Tall” (portrait) orientation photos are displayed in “wide” (landscape) orientation :
• Select On for Rotate tall ( 0 159).
• The photos were taken with Auto image rotation off ( 0 219).
• Camera was pointed up or down when the photo was taken ( 0 219).
• Photo is displayed in image review ( 0 159).
Cannot hear movie sound :
• Rotate the main command dial right to raise the volume ( 0 65). If the
camera is connected to a television ( 0 148), use the controls for the TV
to adjust the volume.
• You are blocking the speaker with a finger or other object ( 0 3).
Remove the obstruction.
• Live audio is not recorded with slow-motion, fast-motion, or jump-cut
movies ( 0 62) or with Motion Snapshots recorded with None selected
for Audio ( 0 90).
