3.3 Procedure
The recommended installation procedure is presented in Table 5 . The Table refers to, which presents
a schematic wiring diagram.
Read through the entire procedure before beginning. If any steps are unclear, do not begin the
installation process – please contact Clary Corporation for assistance.
Finish each step completely before continuing to the next.
Table 5: TYPICAL INSTALLATION PROCEDURE FOR SP170-PDA
1. Mount SP170-PDA in cabinet.
2. Install UPS module, PDA24 and Flasher units into the SP170-PDA.
3. Connect all cabinet wiring to the SP170-PDA.
4. Mount Batteries and connect all interconnect connectors from the battery cable.
5. Connect battery cable to SP170-PDA. Make sure the six or eight batteries are wired in series (+
to -) with 72VDC or 96VDC full potential across complete string.
6. Connect Flash connections to the SP170-PDA if needed.
7. Test installation for proper operation.
8. Document installation.
