4.5 Auxiliary line
The SM42A / SM82A matrix is equipped with an auxiliary line AUX which can be used to control a video
multiplexer (VIDEOTEC, ENEO or JAVELIN/HITRON) or telemetry line with VIDEOTEC, MACRO, ENEO or
PELCO ‘D’ protocol (see paragraph 4.6).
It is possible to use the AUX line by setting the MACRO protocol in both the matrix and the control keyboards.
Hence, the keyboards allowing use of the AUX line are DCJ, DCTEL, DCT, DCK and DCIR. When the MACRO
protocol is used for communication between the keyboards and the matrix, the matrix takes care of converting
the messages destined for the AUX line into the appropriate protocol (that of the controlled device).
4.5.1 Control key board configuration
4.5.1.1 DCJ and DCT Keyboards
The DCJ and DCT keyboards are able to control both telemetry receivers and video multiplexers. Because the
keyboards are so flexibles, they should be configured very carefully, following the instructions in its user’s
manuals. At the keyboard level, configure the video line for the MACRO protocol.
4.5.1.2 DCK Keyboar d
The DCK keyboard is able to control the video multiplexers but not the telemetry receivers.
4.5.1.3 DCTEL Keybo ard
The DCTEL keyboard is able to control telemetry receivers but not video multiplexers.
Configure the keyboard and the matrix to use the MACRO protocol. No other settings are necessary at the
keyboard level.
4.5.2 Video multi plexer control
It is possible to control three multiplexer models:
• Videotec
SP16C
• Javelin/Hitron
in
colour
• Javelin/Hitron in black and white
• Eneo in colour
• Eneo in black and white
After setting the AUX line for the matrix, depending on the type of multiplexer used (see OSM programming for
the AUX line at Coax and Aux Line Transmission Submenu), the matrix will take care of converting the
messages destined for the AUX line into the appropriate protocol. See the keyboard and multiplexer manuals for
instructions on using these devices.
Only the DCJ, DCK and DCT are useable.
4.5.3 Telemetry r eceiver control and domes
Only receivers (or domes) with VIDEOTEC, MACRO, ENEO or PELCO ‘D’ protocol (see paragraph 4.6) can be
controlled. After setting the AUX line for the matrix, depending on the type of protocol used (see OSM
programming for the AUX line at Coax and Aux Line Transmission Submenu), the matrix will take care of
converting the messages destined for the AUX line into the appropriate protocol. See the keyboard and
multiplexer manuals for instructions on using these devices.
