BMR Suspension For the car
HEAVY DUTY STUB AXLES – 2004-2006 GTO
Part # AS001-L and AS001-R
1. Lift vehicle and support with stands under cradle allowing rear wheels to hang. Set emergency brake.
2. Using a 5/16” or 8mm Allen head socket, remove all 6 bolts that attach the CV shaft to the stub axle.
Pull the CV away from the stub axle, allowing the axle to hang.
3. Using a prybar, pry the factory stub axle out of the differential. They are retained by spring clips and
only require a slight amount of pressure to remove.
4. Using a pick or small screwdriver, transfer the spring clip from the factory stub axle to the BMR HD
stub axle.
5. Re-install the HD stub axle using a rubber mallet to set the axle.
6. Apply blue Loctite to the threads of the mounting hardware and re-install the CV shaft. It may be
necessary to lift the wheels in order to get the bolts started.
7. Torque all bolts to 45 ft/lbs.
8. Repeat steps 2-7 on opposite side. Lower vehicle.
