SB004 Installation Instructions
INSTALLATION:
1. Lift front of vehicle and safely support with
jack stands under the frame rails.
2. Remove the front wheels/tires.
3. Unbolt and remove the OE front sway bar.
4. Installing the larger front bar takes some
finesse but it will fit once the proper steps
have been taken. Depending on your brake
size, you may need to remove one brake rotor
to provide the clearance necessary for the bar
to swing during the installation. Work the bar
through the frame opening in one side then
through the opening on the other side. If the
spring is in the way preventing the bar from
rotating correctly into position and you can’t
position the sway bar in between the coils of
the spring, it will be necessary to remove the
spring for this installation. (IMAGE 1)
5. Once the bar is positioned, place the frame
mount bushings over the sway bar and place
the saddles over the bushings as shown in IMAGE 2. Thread the provided bolts and
clipped washers into the frame, holding the
sway bar in place. NOTE: On some frames the
metal surrounding the coil spring relief on the
frame may interfere with the sway bar
mounting saddle (See IMAGE 3). To provide
the proper clearance, you will either need to
relieve the frame in this area or cut the
bracket. Once the bracket can sit flush on the
frame, tighten all (4) bolts.
6. Once the sway bar is mounted, install the end
links as shown in IMAGE 4. Tighten the bolts
with (2) 9/16” wrenches until the bushings
begin to bulge.
7. Using a silicone‐based grease, lube the sway
bar mounting bushings. Pump grease into the
fittings until you start to see it come out the
side of the bushings.
8. Re‐install brake rotor (if necessary) and
wheels/tires and lower vehicle.
