Connect the quorum disk to the primary and secondary systems using external ports on the
P9500 systems.

Installing software
You must install and configure multipath software on the host first, and then install the software on
the primary and secondary storage systems.
Procedure 4 To install the required software:
1.
Install multipath software on the host. See
“Multipath software and supported operating systems
. Also, see the documentation for the multipath software you use.
When the software is installed, set the path health-checking period to three minutes.
2.
Install the following on the primary and secondary storage systems using Remote Web Console:
•
External Storage Access Manager
•
Continuous Access Synchronous
•
External Storage

3.
Install RAID Manager on the hosts.
For information about how to install RAID Manager, see the HP P9000 RAID Manager
Installation and Configuration User Guide.
Configuring primary and secondary systems
You configure the primary and secondary systems (MCU and RCU) to set up the ESAM relationship
between the two systems and to establish the logical paths between them.
Prerequisite information

Review
“Primary and secondary systems requirements” (page 13)
, which includes information
on MCUs, RCUs, logical paths, and port attributes.
•
Review the prerequisites for the section on configuring storage systems and defining logical
paths in the HP P9000 Continuous Access Synchronous User Guide.
•
Perform this configuration operation on both the primary and secondary systems.
