4.3 The Policy Advisor Script
SCRIPT NAME
On Linux or Solaris:
PolicyAdvisor.tcl
On Windows:
policyadvisor
DESCRIPTION
Analyzes how your virtual volumes use physical disk space and recommends actions to improve
the performance of your InServ Storage Server.
SYNTAX
On Linux or Solaris:
./PolicyAdvisor.tcl [options] [<VV_name|pattern>...]|[<CPG_name|pattern>...]
On Windows:
policyadvisor [options] [<VV_name|pattern>...]|[<CPG_name|pattern>...]
OPTIONS
-t <rtype|current>
Specifies the virtual volume is tuned to the specified RAID type. Valid RAID types are
r1
,
r5
and
r6
. RAID 0 is not supported as a target RAID type for the Policy Advisor.
The default is to use the
current
setting of the virtual volume. If the
<rtype>
is
current
, the virtual volume is skipped and is not analyzed. The
r6
option is only
available in InForm OS versions 2.3.1 and later.
-ssz <set_size>
Specifies the RAID set size for the virtual volume. The set size values are:
RAID 1, default is 2. Possible values are 2, 3, and 4.
RAID 5, default is 4. Possible values are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
RAID 6, default is 8. Possible values are 8 and 16.
